Sophie Schmidt (born in Freiburg, Germany, raised in Athens, resident in Bern) realizes installations of hyper-sized everyday objects. Her paper sculptures, with a minimalist feel, sometimes with watercolor interventions, magnifying the commercial and industrial products of the consumerist world that surrounds us not only provocatively invades the gallery space, but also stimulates an ironic and melancholy reflection on seriality and on the induction of needs in a mass society.
